- Quick service restaurants
The situation
The distributor offers custom branded packaging. One of its clients, a large multinational quick service restaurant, was planning a limited run of branded foodservice disposables and asked for regular vs sustainable options.
The buyer wanted to see what each alternative would change before choosing: regular cups against FSC-certified cups, PE-lined cups against aqueous-coated cups, and regular boxes against recycled cardboard.

What Zilch did
Zilch calculated a carbon footprint for each regular product and its alternative, so every swap could be compared on the same basis. The distributor used the results to prepare a report on products A, B and C and let the buyer choose.
